Beat Licensing Terms

Last updated: July 3, 2026

1. Overview

When you purchase a beat or instrumental from Zarry C (“Licensor”), you are purchasing a license to use that beat in your musical projects. You do not own the copyright to the beat itself. The copyright remains with the Licensor (Justice Zari / Zarry C).

All beats are licensed as “All Rights” (exclusive) unless otherwise specified. By purchasing a beat, you agree to these terms.

2. License Types

2.1 Non-Exclusive License (Standard)

Available upon request. Grants you the right to:

  • Use the beat in one (1) musical composition (your song)
  • Distribute and stream the composition on platforms (Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube, etc.)
  • Sell up to 5,000 copies/streams of the composition
  • Register your composition with your PRO (BMI, ASCAP, PRS, etc.)

Limitations:

  • You may not register the beat as your own instrumental
  • You may not resell, sublicense, or transfer the beat to another party
  • You may not use the beat in broadcast advertisements without additional licensing
  • Credit to “Zarry C” is required in metadata and promotional materials

2.2 Exclusive License (“All Rights”)

This is the default license for beats on our marketplace. Grants you:

  • All rights under the Non-Exclusive License
  • Unlimited copies/streams of your composition
  • The beat is removed from our marketplace and will not be sold to anyone else
  • You may use the beat in unlimited projects
  • You may perform the composition live without restriction

Limitations:

  • You still do not own the copyright to the underlying beat
  • You may not resell the beat as a standalone instrumental
  • You may not register the beat as your own copyright
  • Credit to “Zarry C” is required in metadata

3. What You Cannot Do (All Licenses)

  • Resell, lease, sublicense, or transfer the beat to another person
  • Register the beat as your own copyright or instrumental work
  • Use the beat in its original form as a standalone track (must be part of a new composition)
  • Use the beat in defamatory, hateful, or illegal content
  • Claim ownership of the beat's underlying composition

4. Credit & Metadata

All licensed compositions must credit “Zarry C” or “Justice Zari” in:

  • Song title metadata (e.g., “My Song (prod. Zarry C)”)
  • YouTube/Social media descriptions
  • Album liner notes (if applicable)

5. Royalties & Publishing

You retain 100% of the royalties from your composition (performance royalties, mechanical royalties, sync fees). The Licensor retains 100% of royalties from the underlying beat (if licensed separately). You are responsible for registering your composition with your PRO.

6. Termination

If you violate any of these terms, your license is automatically terminated. You must immediately cease distribution of any compositions using the beat and destroy all copies.

7. Custom Beats

For custom beat requests, the same licensing terms apply unless otherwise agreed in writing. Custom beats are exclusive to the client by default.
